The last of the water restrictions for Waipā have been lifted as from today (8 April).

Water restrictions have been lifted completely for Cambridge, Kihikihi, Pukerimu and Ohaupo as of today (20 March).
Te Awamutu and Pirongia are the only towns that will continue to have water restrictions and will remain at Water Alert Level 3 which means no use of sprinklers at any time.

We're having a great summer across the Waikato. Long, hot days have meant a chance to relax and enjoy the sun. It’s also meant that a lot of families have been enjoying inflatable swimming pools in their backyard.

Every drop really does count at this time of year. Water Alert Level 3 means there is a total ban on sprinklers but we are asking residents to look at ways they can save water indoors and out.

Two of the region's councils, Hamilton City and Waikato District Council, are asking residents to further conserve their water use, to reduce the need for additional water restrictions.
