Hamilton will be back on Water Alert Level 2 from Friday 6 March.

Car washing, hosing and pool top-ups will be banned in Te Awamutu, Pirongia, and Ōhaupō as of Wednesday 12 February.

Hamilton City Council has moved to Water Alert Level 3 from Thursday 6 February, in response to record water-use in past weeks.

Council is now ramping up efforts in order to get residents and commercial businesses to conserve as much water as possible.

Dry conditions and increased demand have forced Council to move to Alert 3 this Friday, only 11 days since water alert level 1 was put in place.
